Being in a 9-5 job from Mondays to Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are left to picking up the pieces of a chaotic life. Early morning saw me and hub going to the car workshop. The car trembled a lot in the mornings to the point of engine dying off and I feared cars ramming into me at anytime. Whilst waiting for the repair, we drove to a nearby hypermart famous for its cheap pricing.
Jumbo prawns were selling for RM60 per kilo and I thought, hey, why not get some for pure indulgence. Got myself 4 pieces at RM18.00. In sleepy town Tg Tualang, restaurants there sell prawns at RM70/kg and you would not get these sizes. These freshwater jumbo prawns is as big as the palm of my hands. Such beautiful creatures must be treated with respect and so I diligently looked up recipes to get the best out of them. Finally I settled for plain pan fried with garlic, soya sauce and cooking wine. Boy, they were so just so goooooooooooood! The texture was firm and on bite, I felt that I am having a mini version of a lobster.
These will definitely be making a comeback to my dinner table!
