BIL suggested picnic today, Hari Raya Haji, being a public holiday in Malaysia at Lake Gardens, situated in the heart of the Kuala Lumpur. MIL's friend invited her to observe the slaughter of cows to which she graciously declined. I would love to go if given a chance though. Just as we were preparing to leave the house, rain came. The rain stopped in just about half an hour or less and we decided to go ahead with our plans.
Chairs were wet and thank God we brought a mat. Food was plenty - nasi lemak, kueh kodok, muffins, sausages and bacon, coffee and tea, fried noodles and fruits. I have packed :
1 - shopping cart to wheel heavy items across the park
2 - lots of room temperature drinking water
3 - a flask of hot coffee (without sugar and milk) and a flask of hot water to make tea coupled with tea bags
4 - old newspaper to line dirty surfaces
5 - old dishcloth for wiping spills
6 - garbage bag for cleaning up
7 - mat for staring into the sky on your back
8 - camera for my itchy fingers
9 - insect repellant - i have been sick twice from mossies' bite
We didn't venture far from our spot - pure laziness? Nephew had us walking all over as we had to watch over him.
Things I wished I had brought along were: wet wipes, a candle for getting the nosy fly out of the way and more coffee, more coffee and more coffee .....
