Passion fruit

Hub brought in these back from his work assignment in Indonesia.  Sold at a  cheap, cheap, cheap price from the local market, it is one of the must-buys when one is in the country.

To eat, just break open the outer shell and you can see a white soft covering.  Break open gently and you will find black seeds encased in sacs of sweet juice.  Passion fruit taste better if you were to refrigerate them.  On a hot day, nothing beats having gulps of it (yeah, I don't bite as the seed will release a sour taste).  It is so tempting that you want to go for a second, a third, a fourth.....

Oh, by the way, if you are down in the local market (in Indonesia), ask for buah markisar.  That is the local name for passion fruit.

Passion for passion fruit, anyone?
