Found these lovely books on sale at the National Library, Perth. Going for a song of AUD2.00-AUD3.00 each in the clearance bins, yours faithfully can't tear my eyes away from them. As with all library books, these were wrapped nicely in plastic coverings with borrower's listing. What more can you ask for?
The book on left is titled 'THE PERIYALI COOKBOOK - NEW CLASSIC GREEK COOKING' Hmmm.....learning a few Greek words too from here. Periyali is a famous New York three star restaurant run by Nicola Kotsoni and Steve Tzolis and this book pays tribute to them as they share recipes with the writer Holly Garrison.
The book on right is titled 'STORIES FROM THE CLASSICAL BALLET' - a re-telling of the stories from eight major classical ballets namely:
*LA BAYADERE,
*COPPELIA,
*THE FIREBIRD,
*GISELLE,
*THE NUTCRACKER,
*PETROUSHKA,
*THE SLEEPING BEAUTY,
*SWAN LAKE
Dancing has never been my cup of tea. In school, I can never remember the steps and all the whirling and twirling drives me into a dizzy state. But I love stories and this book indeed is a great gem!
