My friend saw these grapes on sale at one of the giant supermarts during one of her lunch breaks. Going for RM5.00/kg, she could not resist the offer and loaded her trolley full with it. How could she eat so much? No, dear friends, she became the Santarina for the day – dispensing grapes to her dear friends. That is part of her joy – to share her finds.
How many times have we done that ie. buying things not for ourselves but for our friends. We feel happy when our friends are happy, sad when they are sad. It is in this state of being able to feel each other’s joy and pain that makes us humane. Like always being said, ‘treat others the way you want to be treated’. Even Jesus commanded in the bible ‘love your neighbor as yourself’.
Can I be a blessing to someone today?
I am reminded of the Prayer of St Francis and below is the famous hymn

Make me a channel of your peace,
Where there is hatred let me bring your love,
Where there is injury your pardon Lord,
And where there's doubt true faith in you.
Make me a channel of your peace,
Where there's despair in life, let me bring hope,
Where there is darkness, only light,
And where there's sadness, ever joy.
O Master grant that I may never seek,
So much to be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love with all my soul.
Make me a channel of your peace,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
In giving to all men that we receive
And in dying that we are born to eternal life.
