Egg tart @ Bidor ....

Journey back from Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur was pure exhausting.  What was supposed to be a 2.5 hours drive turned out to be a 4+ hours one.  I noticed that many were single driver vehicles.  Perhaps there need to be a 'balik kampung' club where members can arrange car pooling?  A call came and a distressed friend was frantic as her train was cancelled.   Chaotic weekend - stress uncalled for.  We were fed up with the slow crawl and turned into Bidor to eat - now that's a good way to kill boredom, right?

The corner coffee shop Pun Chun with its famous duck noodles was brimming to the full of customers.  You had to wait for your turn for orders to be taken; wait again for your food to be served.  We were famished and waiting game is not one for us to play, so we grabbed whatever ready food in sight - Kampar chicken biscuits, fried yam puffs and a walk few doors away for egg tarts.  The egg tart was good surprisingly - mainly because it came out fresh from oven.  I was a bit disappointed initially over the pastry (I like it flaky) and this was a hard crust; nevertheless the freshness overcomes all negative expectations.

And the price of an egg tart here?  A mere RM1.00 .....
