Malaysia is a food paradise - people here would have breakfast, tea break, lunch, tea break, dinner, supper. One has choice of western, chinese, indian, muslim, middle eastern cuisines to choose from. Food lovers are known to travel for an hour or more in search of gastronomic delights.
Born to a family who believed that one must eat well and can do with less in other areas, I had good food - not extravagant but nutritious food. One family in my neighbourhood were less fortunate and they had to do with just pancakes for dinner. Life was tough.
Why then should people go hungry in this modern day? Don't we have the science and technology? Such irony! The corrupted government? The unforgiving climate? The pestilences? Others well heeled in the world are walking around with a Gucci, YSL, Monier and all the exclusive brands you can think of. Yet others in the same planet has never seen a McDonald burger before.
Before you reach for the fork and knife today, remember these who go hungry to bed.

God, we thank you for the food on our table
God, we thank you for the food on our table
Many times that we often took for granted
Bless the cook and the farmers and their crops
We pray for people who go hungry to sleep
We ask that somehow they would be reached and be helped
Help us always to remember them in our giving and prayers

We cannot reach the world but we can reach one life, one family.
