Potpourri

I saw some potpourri at a friend's house.  They were of bright hues and look so pretty.  I would daresay that some looked spray painted.  During one hot afternoon, I decided to make some at home.

Went out into the garden and picked some lemon balm leaves, a couple of screwpine leaves aka daun pandan  (cut to few pieces to release aroma), semi dried paw paw leaves (turning yellow), white and purple bougainvilla flowers, daun kadok (see pic below) and a scatter of cardamom seeds.  A few big and green leaves were included to provide the bulk.  Left them to dry out over a couple of days before putting the potpourri in a nice glass container.

Basically, the above recipe centers heavily on the fragrance of daun kadok, screwpine leaves, cardamom seeds giving an earthy note.

Feel free to experiment as your nose leads you.....
