Hub was given a box of figs which a friend bought in Australia. It was my first time eating fresh figs. The friend suggested to pair it with bread and since I did not make any, decided to pair it with crackers and drizzle with honey. They were soft and dainty on the palate and the honey gave them a light hint of sweetness. Recently I came across a string of dried figs and learnt that they were worn around the neck. At any moment when a traveller is hungry, he/she will just pluck off one fig to fend off the hunger. Now, that's called convenience food.
