My friend in Indonesia loves roti canai (Indians prefer to call it paratha). Over in my friend's town, a piece of roti canai sells for about RM2.50 (two and a half times the cost in Malaysia). I had stuffed three frozen packs into my bag - the gift would be greatly appreciated. Thus, imagine my horror to wake up the next day to see panfried roti canai for my breakfast done by my host. My friend assured me he still have two packs left and I could eat without guilt. Thanks, friend.
Panfried till crispy, it makes lovely dessert with caramelized banana. On a savoury note, one can eat it with curry or lentils. A frozen pack in the refrigerator certainly serves to end the midnight hunger .....
